If I had to pick a favorite genre, it would be science fiction, hands down. But I tend to stick to a few tried and true authors (mainly Arthur C. Clarke). I’ll be the first to admit that I could stand to read a few more of the classics, so I was intrigued by this list of must-read sci-fi.
Although it clearly isn’t an exhaustive list—1984 and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? are conspicuously absent, for instance, and I don’t think anyone would disagree that those belong on a list of classic must-reads—most of Forbidden Planet’s list was either still on my TBR list or off my radar completely. That’s an ideal quality in a reading list, no matter how enjoyable it is to revisit already-finished favorites.
What do you think of the lineup? Would you make any changes? Let me know!
